E-Visa
- The Russia eVisa is an electronic travel authorization that allows eligible foreign nationals, including Indian citizens (for specific regions and categories), to visit Russia for short stays without visiting an embassy. The entire process is completed online, making it a simpler and faster alternative to traditional sticker visas.
- The eVisa is generally issued for tourism, business, and humanitarian purposes, depending on eligibility rules. It is designed for short-term travel and does not permit long stays or employment.
- Applicants must apply online by filling out the visa form, uploading required details such as passport information and photo, and submitting the application through the official Russian eVisa system. Once approved, the eVisa is issued electronically and linked to the passport.
- The visa is usually valid for a limited period with a fixed duration of stay, and it must be used strictly within the approved validity window. Entry is allowed only through designated ports of entry specified under the eVisa program.
- Even with an approved eVisa, final entry into Russia is subject to immigration approval at the port of entry.
